Overview

EW-S3936GM-AP is an L2+ managed aggregation switch for enterprise, campus and security networks. Eight Gigabit PoE ports power edge devices, twenty-four 100/1000M SFP uplinks aggregate fiber access, and four 1/2.5/10G SFP+ uplinks connect the core. Its built-in AC supply and standard 1U rack form fit high-density deployments.

Fiber and link planning

The switch combines 24 × 100/1000M SFP uplinks with four 1/2.5/10G SFP+ uplinks. Modules are ordered separately, with single-mode, multimode, single-fiber, dual-fiber and LC options. Optical reach depends on the selected module and fiber.

VLAN and routing

Port- and protocol-based VLANs, IEEE 802.1Q, QinQ and Access/Trunk/Hybrid modes. L2+ software routing supports communication between VLANs, with up to 128 static/default routes and 1,024 ARP entries.

Aggregation and redundancy

LACP and static aggregation support up to eight groups with eight ports per group. STP, RSTP, MSTP and G.8032 ERPS ring redundancy provide link resilience; the source lists ring self-healing below 20 ms.

Multicast and QoS

IGMP Snooping v1/v2, MLD Snooping v1/v2 and multicast VLAN. Eight output queues per port, 802.1p/DSCP mapping, SP/WRR scheduling, rate limiting, packet filtering and bi-directional traffic mirroring.

Security and management

L2–L4 ACLs, 802.1X, centralized MAC authentication, AAA/RADIUS, SSH, SSL, port isolation, IP source protection and DoS protection. HTTPS web management, console/Telnet/SSH CLI, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, DHCP client and snooping, LLDP, NTP and diagnostics.

PoE and installation

Ports 1–8 support IEEE 802.3af/at and 1/2 (+), 3/6 (−) PoE pin assignment. Configure per-port allocation, priority, delayed start and time schedules. Built-in AC supply and included hanging ears support standard 1U rack installation.
