Overview

EW-2936GM-8GF-AP is an L2+ managed aggregation switch for high-density PoE access. Twenty-four Gigabit PoE ports power edge devices, eight SFP slots aggregate fiber access and four 1/2.5/10G SFP+ uplinks connect higher-speed networks. Its built-in AC supply and standard 1U rack form support hotels, campuses, factories and small and medium-sized enterprises.

Fiber and uplink planning

The switch provides eight 100/1000M SFP slots and four 1/2.5/10G SFP+ uplinks. Single-mode, multimode, single-fiber, dual-fiber and LC module options are listed in the source and ordered separately. Source-listed reaches include 10G multimode up to 300m, 1.25G multimode up to 500m, 1310nm single-mode up to 40km and 1550nm single-mode up to 120km.

PoE management

The source lists total PoE power limits, per-port allocation, AF/AT enable or disable, priority configuration, per-port status, delayed start and time scheduling.

VLAN, routing and redundancy

Port, protocol and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN support includes Access, Trunk, Hybrid and QinQ. IPv4/IPv6 management, static/default routing, LACP, STP/RSTP/MSTP and G.8032 ERPS support resilient networks.

Multicast and QoS

IGMP/MLD Snooping, multicast VLAN, up to 1024 multicast groups, eight output queues, 802.1p/DSCP mapping, SP/WRR scheduling, traffic mirroring and flow-based limits are listed in the source.

Security and management

ACL filtering from L2 to L4, 802.1X, AAA/RADIUS, SSH2, SSL, port isolation, IP source protection, ARP inspection, DHCP Snooping/Relay and DoS protection are supported. Management includes CLI, HTTPS, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, NTP, LLDP, file transfer and NMS.

Installation and protection

The standard 1U chassis uses an integrated AC supply and supports desktop or 19-inch cabinet installation. It includes one-button reset, IP30 protection and the source-listed ESD and surge levels.
