Overview

EW-PI240W-48 supplies nominal 48V DC at up to 5A for industrial networking and automation equipment. The 240W DIN-rail unit has adjustable output, a metal enclosure and overload, short-circuit, overvoltage and thermal protection.

Load derating

The datasheet curve shows 100% load through +40°C, decreasing to 50% at +70°C. It also shows 80% load at 90V AC and 100% from 100V AC. Select operating load using both temperature and input-voltage limits.

Output behavior

Adjustable DC output. Ripple/noise peak ≤100mV under the stated 20MHz measurement method with 0.1µF and 47µF capacitors. Start time <2 seconds at nominal input and full load; hold time >20ms at 115V AC and >115ms at 230V AC.

Power protection

Built-in short-circuit, overload, overcurrent, overvoltage and overtemperature protection. Recovery behavior depends on the protection condition; refer to the datasheet for the applicable limits.

Terminals and environment

TB1 connects protective earth, AC neutral/DC negative and AC line/DC positive. TB2 provides DC −V and +V outputs. Operating humidity: 20–95%; storage: −40°C to +85°C and 10–95% RH, non-condensing. Listed altitude: 2000m.
