Overview

EW-10GSFP-SR provides a simple fiber-to-copper bridge for 10Gbps Ethernet. Its RJ45 port accepts 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M links, while the SFP+ interface supports long-distance fiber runs for backbone, data center and telecommunications-room deployments.

Copper to fiber

Converts 10G Ethernet between the RJ45 copper port and a 10GBASE-X SFP+ interface.

Fiber reach and cabling

The source lists 10GBASE-LR/SR/BX support with 50/125μm or 62.5/125μm multimode fiber up to 300m, and 9/125μm single-mode fiber up to 80km. For copper, the source specifies Cat 6A/Cat 7 for 10G, Cat 6/Cat 6A/Cat 7 for 5G, and Cat 5e or better for 1G/2.5G.

Diagnostics and management

Source-listed functions include SFP+ DMI, loop-back testing, economic in-band management, network management options, full-state LED display and UTP cable-length detection on the RJ45 interface.

Deployment options

The compact metal unit supports desktop and wall-mount use. The source also lists media converter chassis installation, 2U rack use with 16-channel chassis and hot plugging.
