EWIND’s EVDP functions bring four practical controls to PoE networks: extended reach, port isolation, automatic recovery and power priority. They are designed to simplify installation and reduce routine maintenance.
E — Extended reach
Extend mode supports 250–300 meter transmission at 10Mbps on supported ports. Standard mode returns to the normal Ethernet distance and link speed. The lower link speed in Extend mode should be included in the project’s bandwidth planning.
V — VLAN isolation
Port isolation separates connected endpoints at the switch. This is useful when surveillance cameras or other devices should communicate upstream without directly communicating with each other.
D — Watchdog recovery
Watchdog monitors connected devices and restarts power on an unresponsive PoE port. In the source example, the switch waits 60 seconds for traffic to recover before restarting the port.
P — Port priority
Power priority protects higher-priority ports when the total demand exceeds the available supply. Lower-priority ports are disconnected first. Check the selected model’s port assignment and DIP-switch settings before installation.
